-What is Nidom processing?-
This process involves kneading and beating the fabric while it is relaxed in water, creating the firmness and fluffiness that are characteristic of natural fibers.
Then, by using decomposing enzymes to evenly control the fluffiness and firmness, a unique powdery touch and smooth, supple surface is created.
Originally developed for a specific cellulose fiber (Tencel), it is now also used for natural fibers such as cotton. Because it requires advanced know-how and effort, factories that can carry out this process are extremely rare in Japan.
The fabric that has been treated with Nidom is soft and has a worn-in feel, like a vintage garment, and is very light to wear.
The jacket is a combination of a tailored jacket and a coverall.
